Well I've finally got the book for the 9CHP, wonderful how clear the
instructions are!!!!

So, I'm dancing in and out of me office, between snow showers, trying to set
up the tail and Vision 2000 gyro on me Hawk Sport (I know I should be
working, but!). At the moment I have got the gain for normal and HH set by
using the ATV on C5. But in the book it say's about the Gyro Sense function,
as a separate entity. So should I set the ATV for C5 at 0/0 and just use the
new function or 100/00 and ditto, or what?:-o

Phil,

The gyro set-up instructions in the heli manual are gineric for the Century
gyro. If you have another gyro, use the instructions from the gyro you have.

Bad news: You're not going to have any fun with the Vision2000 - it's totaly
unstable temperature-wise. What ever you'll try WILL get you more
frustrated!
Other than that, forget about futabas Gyro sense function. With the V2000,
it's channel 5 for control and nothing else. With a .30 size you'll end up
at around 45. With a .60 size you're lost.
Make sure you get the rudder ATV to 100% (even if it bends the linkage on
the ground - that barely ever happens in real flight anyway).
Once you're really frustrated, dump the V2000 and get yourself a GY401/9253
combo. As more you're frustrated as greater the oh!.. effect then....

Ohh I already know that! on me X-Cell I've got a CSM 540\JR 2700G
combination and even with the long wire drive it holds the tail rock solid.
The tail response is also real sharp, so much so that at the moment I see no
point in 'upgrading' to the tail mounted servo.

As for the V2000, yes I'm finding that I tweak the sub trim to get it to
hold position on the switch over from norm to HH, but turn the system off
and then on again and the bloody thing drifts!! I gave up trying to use HH
mode this morning and just flew in normal mode and it was really good but
not a cat in hells chance of getting HH to work.

Mind you it was bloody cold, at one point I thought the cyclic system on the
X-Cell was playing up. Landed and check it out and all was ok, then I
figured the problem. The brain was sending commands to the fingers, but the
fingers were too cold to respond!
