Rather than Westport Lake, some members decended on Crewe for the Annual Crewe Militaire show. though mainly a show dedicated to wargamers, plastic kit modellers and static modellers, however there was some RC going on, with heli's and trucks upstairs

Looks like a good show! :) some nice looking model cars! In Pic 0069, there is a Vanwall and a Cooper (large scale F1 in the middle of the shot) did you happen to notice if those were kits?

Congratulations on your third! :)

Yes, Ghost, congratulations to you.

The movie "Grand Prix" was shown on television yesterday; in it the character Scott Stoddard drives what looks to me like a Vanwall as part of his post-crash therapy. What a neat, neat-looking car! In British Racing Green, of course.
(Sorry, please excuse this OT ramble.)

Ghost, I believe it was on TCM. It was commercial-free. I really like the movie's musical theme and the photography is breath-taking. Today, a lot of it would probably be CGI and a lot less dramatic; it just wouldn't be the same movie. Thank goodness they made it when they did.

It was made late enough to take advantage of special cameras and ancillary equipment as well as great camera angles and filming techniques. And it was made early enough to include Jimmy Clark, Graham Hill and Juan Manuel Fangio and perhaps others while they were still alive.
