I bought this cheap flight sim from NitroModels, called E-Sky, I belive put out by TWF Hobby. Man, straight out of China! In fact, the English is the secondary printing on the box. Anyways, my problem is (other than buying this cheap stuff!!) is that my computer (laptop) uses MS Vista, this program is for XP, 2000,ME, 98. Can anyone help me on this?
It did come with a full size Tx box, USB cable & the program disc. On the box it says "Simulators supported FMS Version 2.0 Beta7, FMS Version2.0 Alpha 8.4" Any ideas on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken

Windows Vista users - FMS uses a DLL file from Windows that is no longer included with Windows Vista, which causes an error when you run FMS. The file is named D3DRM.DLL. To install this file, go to http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=A0320048&Nav=3 and save the file in your My Computer->C:->Windows->System folder. It is also suggested that you run FMS in Windows XP compatibility mode. To do this, right click on the FMS icon on your desktop and select "Compatibility" from the pop-up menu. Select "Windows XP Compatibility" and hit OK.

Thanks a million RC159, I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, on Vista, there is no "My Computer" and "Windows" and "System Folder" like there is on XP. My desktop still has, and will continue to have XP, (not a real fan of Vista yet), this notebook has the Vista O.S.. Could you guide a Computer Illiterate on how to put this file in it's proper place. Even when I downloaded it, an unfamiliar text screen came up, and it wouldn't let me browse on where to drop the file, so I just put it on the desktop, which was about the only place it would let me.
So, if you can, and you've got the time, can you guide me thru this?
Thanks for any help you can do for me, Ken

Ken, I only used Vista for about a month. I cant remember much about it I'll try and talk you through it. Let me know if it works.
Right click on the dll file and click on copy
click on start, run, type in "explorer" in the box without the "'s, click OK
click the + sign to the left of my computer , click on the + sign next to C:\
click on the + sign next to the windows folder
scroll down til you see the system folder
right click on the system folder
click on paste
that should do it.
let me know if it works.

So did you get this working?
Yes I did but it is not 100% as is goes 'blocky' and flashes at times. If you search the FMS thread here on Rc groups you will find instructions on how it is done and the extra file needed.

does anyone know how to reverse channel 3 (throttle)on the e sky transmitter, for fms the model #is 0905A thank you fdnyjeryIt cannot be done on the transmitter if you mean the Esky simulator one that comes with the programe. But what you do is with FMS running click controls in the menu bar. Pick Analoge control, mapping/calibration. tick EXP and un tick INN. on the throttle control which should be set at number 3 for throttle.
