I orginally had a build thread on here called the USS Joseph Daniels but had some numbering trouble when I put on the decals, so now its the USS Wainwright. Its still a Belknap class. Here are the pictures of my progress so far. About two to three weeks away from a maiden voyage. Mother nature permitting of course.

Looks nice. Are you adding more detail to it?

Egads! The Wainwright was more often than not our Desron's flagship. I really felt sorry for the ship's skipper & crew. The commodore was an evolutionary step backwards. Great ship & crew, though!
Keep up the good work on the model; you've done a fine job so far!

Thanks for the comments! Yes, nieb15 I am adding more detail. Takes forever to make the railings and I'm working my way from starboard to port side. As I complete a section of railings I add the fittings that go into that area such as guns, radar etc.. The 5 inch gun that will be mount on the rear is set to move side to side and the whole deck screws down. I put weather stripping under the deck and once screwed down its nicely sealed. The on and off switch will be mount under the missile storage unit.

You might take a look at this. Maybe would fit your boat and save you a lot of time. Pete M

I thought of pre made railings but I like to build. Besides my sodering is getting! Perhaps when I do my SSY Arizona I will go with the pre made ones.
