That F-4 is unbelievable. Looks like the weather could not have been better either. I still love the big jets, I have no idea why there's not more stuff going on in here. I might have to start posting my the build on my Mavrick Pro in here just to get something going. A really nice guy gave me a deal on one that was NIB. And it has everything in it.

Just a shot of the Fan and Motor Setup. Worked on it all Friday to get O.S 91 to fit in it right. I really want to run the BVM Motor but it's hard to spend the money when I have 3 N.I.B. O.S sitting here. But it is a BVM and My hole intention on this plane was to do it all BVM. I always wanted a Mavrick Pro cause there light and smaller than newr planes and built for Fan's, I guess since I was luck enough to get the plane I wanted, plus it's never been built, i'm sure I will break down and get the BVM motor eventually. I am getting the new style Balsa Bandit Retracts for sure. There built so awesome and are much better parts than the original. Absolutely everything I have so far is BVM, so I think it's a no brainer to keep it that way. I still have no idea what paint scheme to go with though. I'm leaning towards the Air Force Test color's, but that camo is damn nice too. I saw one at a show a while ago that was Blue Angels like a F-11 that was pretty nice too. Ahhh decisions! I'll break it all out of the box tonight and take some pics. That way you can see the plane and abundance of accessories all still in the BVM wrappers.

IIRC the OS.91 dont like the VioJet very well because of the rpm required to get the power. The OS max out at ~24k where anything above 22k reduce bearing life. The BVM.91 takes the VioJet to about 27k in the air and dont mind at all. Thats where the extra cost went ;)
For a Ramtec and Dynamax the OS.91 is a better match as both those fans are intended to run up towards 22k, right in the comfort zone of the OS.

Oh the money spent on BVM Motor is worth it. And I know I'm underpowering. But I would rather change the motor later in the plane than the motor and the fan later. Even though I will probably break down and go for the BVM. I still keep the RPM down, but i upgrade my O.S to the caged bearings and soak them in turbine oil between flights. I get pretty good life out of them now at keeping them at 23K. The upgrade makes them better for more RPM but why bother they start losing power at 21K anyway! hehe I'm sure i will end up doing Taxi shakedowns with O.S then go to BVM when it's ready for flight. I'm also thinkinking for the extra $100 go for the .96. Any thoughts? Oh and I'm going to pull the parts out tonight and do some pics just for the heck of it.

Sorry to jump in here but just curious. Your running an O.S. .91 is that a special DF fan engine or just a regular hot plane engine?
I'm just curious as I've seen some pretty low cost glow DF kit's (sport scale stuff) but when I find places selling the engines for them they're steep.
I'm just curious anyway as glow DF's are not something I'm going to jump into anytime soon. Unless I win the lottery or something lol.

No it's a special Duct Fan Motor. Rear carb rear exhaust.

You can beat the BVM engine for a clean installation in a Viojett. The centerbody pretty much wraps aroud the engine.
This is a BVM Aggressor and there is no unused space. Note the saddle tanks outboard of the duct.
Still waiting for that first flight. :D
