Just wanted to get the opinions of people on Foam vs. Rubber tires for
Touring Cars. I've run both. While the foams "hook you up" alot easier, I
had alot of fun when I raced w/ hard rubber slicks. It was real tricky
driving and forced u to avoid contact w/ peope and obsticles (or else go
sliding or spinning). Had a very realistic feel.
Just wanted some input from everyone. Might see if I can get enough
interest to start a rubber tire class at the local track.

I prefer rubber tires.
Race rubber tires are more trickly then foam tires in EP. You have to plan
before start, plan how to use the tires in the race. Like stock race, 8
mins, in the first 2 mins tires are not warm enough to provide best
traction, but the last 2 mins the tires are overheating... so you have to
decide wether drive fast at first, or leave the tires till the end. Seting
up the car with rubber tires are more challengable as well. foam tires only
need to set the dampers as hard as it can for more traction, but for rubber
tires, simply make it softer for more traction, but since the damper goes
soft, the car rolls more, becomes slow at some "S" corners, then you'll need
to make the choice. These problems are interesting, and made me stick on
rubber tires.
