Hello,
Working with my suppliers on DS versions of ther models I have some special built DS Acacia II coming, the first shipment has come and gone and there are afew available in the next batch.

Changes are;
Wing: carbon skin, stronger spars, Narrower control surfaces. 3 bolts in the wing.
V tails: bigger bolts in the v tail. larger spars and carbon skins at the root.
Fuse: more material everywhere.
The std Acacia II is a beast these DS versions should do the trick.

NYX F3F DS.
Wing: Carbon in and out of the core. (2X carbon), Thicker wing joiner walls.
Fuse: Same un bendo as carbon version.
Stab: Bigger spars and carbon skin.
The std carbon NYX is the stiffest model I have seen and the DS version will be stiffer but I can't tell because I can't bend the std one now!

I know these are high end models with price tags to mach but if your into breaking the DS record they might do it for you.

These are not listed on the web page and are special order only. Like I said I have a few Acacia DS coming that need a home. if you are interested email me at tom@f3x.com.

A good place to test and dial in these new DS beasts is Cape Blanco. According to ASRO's website, we're holding a DS Fest on April 19 and 20. While that is news to us (I wonder who made up our mind this time... :o), I think what the heck, why not.

Officially, the 2nd ShredAir DS-Fest will be in 2004, and it will be properly advertised, announced, and organized. But we're happy to test new safety gear this year, IF we can get it obtained by then. So, having local pilots attend will be great to help work out the bugs. Assuming it'll happen, there will be no raffle or prices or fees this time; just show up with your bagged, molded, or sheeted plane. We'll assure the necessary permits from Oregon State Parks and the local club.

I'll use this forum and our website for updates.

Oh yea, Barry is already stocking up on DS machines, he has a carbon Nemesis and wants to push that 60" DS speed record. With these stiffer models they should make even bigger holes than last time.

Good Luck!

Maybe not bigger but deeper; and that's a good thing. The south slope at Cape Blanco is unstable in a few places, and we're trying to reinforce it by planting nose cones. Last year, a Speedrunner cone has been added permanently as structural reinforcement.
