Hi there chaps, the long and the short of my problem is that "little fingers" turned my JR 388s and left it on. When I picked the radio up it was dead as a doornail and even after charging it up- Nothing! I have even replaced the lithium battery, all to no avail...... it does not even "peep" when I turn it on! Do any of my more learned friends please have any idea as to what and the f%$%#$ is wrong with the f@#$%ing thing? I thank you all very kindly in advance......

Do you have a voltmeter? A cheap one is better than no one.
Is the battery properly plugged into the transmitter?
The battery plug is tiny, and the xmtr pins are tinier.

After changing the backup battery you need to 'reboot' the CPU. Then it should work, but the factory calibration settings are lost so stick center positions and battery voltage display may be a bit off.

The picture below shows where to short out two pads, which pulls the CPU Reset pin down to Ground (this is an X347 board but I believe the X388 is similar). Unfortunately I can't remember if the short must be maintained while turning on the power switch, or applied after powering up.

If you want to recalibrate the radio then you will need to know how to get into the hidden service menu (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2175517&postcount=3).
