Well, I didn't actually build the model, as it was bought at Harbor Freight. It's their little 26"WS pusher plane. I gave it a 2.5 minute charge and nice bit of up elevator (a little goes a LONG ways on this thing), a slight bit of left rudder, and off she went. I thought the thing would get about 20' high and then the motor would die, resulting in a nice glide down. Not this time! The darn thing took off running, and before I knew it, it had to be at LEAST 100' feet up. It was TINY! :D I was sure it was gone, and with it being my fathers, I started to worry a bit. However, I couldn't help but laugh the whole time. After it peaked out at it's max alt, it rode thermals for FIVE minutes, TWENTY FIVE seconds, and SEVENTY milliseconds! I was impressed! I drifted about 200 yards from it's starting point, and it came down in nice shallow circles over a cul de sac. The time would have been greater, but it hit a palm tree and dove the last 10 feet down. :D You should have seen my face!

And it's fun every time, even when a model DOES disappear forever, victim/sacrifice to the Hung, God of Thermals:D .

Fun? It was a blast! If the plane was mine I'd have tried it again!
Rifleman, I wasn't really shaking. Instead, I was frozen in place for the first minute or two. Then I couldn't decide what to do, so I jsut sat there and watched it. After I realized it wasn't going to come back down in the park, I ran back to my bike and rode after it. I really don't think my dad would have been upset if I did OOS it. I think he would just smile and go buy another. My eyes must have been HUGE! :D I can't wait until that happens with a rubber powered plane! :D :D

Actually, Dad has suffered a slight misfortune and thrown something out in his back, so he was a little groggy from his "afternoon nap." However, he did ask how long it flew, which way, and how high it went. I think if he had been in better spirits, the response would have been better. If he had been there, I think it would have been MUCH better.
He bought the plane himself, but he's only seen it fly a few short times. He's not usually home when I take it down to the park, so he always misses the "good ones." Rest assured, he'll be there next time. :D
