I've got a few RC items in the closet that haven't been touched in about 6
years or more that I'm thinking of selling. Tell me if you think they would
be worth selling or should I just hold on to them. I see from ebay and a
google search on this group that some of this stuff is still used by some
people. I never raced with it I just toyed around with it for a few years
and took it to the track a few times. It's all in really good condition. I
bought this stuff back in '94.

RC-10 Worlds (the one with the stealth tranny, black tub, graphite shock
struts....)
Futaba fp-2pbk 2 channel controler
Novak Hammer Pro ESC
Novak ner-2x receiver
Precision motor works - super rage-91 punisher
Tekin BC 67 ac/dc peak charger
A couple old batteries and I don't know if they still work

Not very modified. I think I bought some titanium turnbuckles and I've got
a set of street wheels and tires. All the original parts, tools, fluids,
and manuals for everything in a nice tackle box.

Yes it is worth selling..........at least you'll get something. Clean it
all up nice and put it all on the Auction. As far as the batteries are
concerned.....cycle them and see how they do, they may be just fine. I have
a few I've had for 7 years and cycled them and only one cell ended up being
bad in one pack.

yeah... it's worth something. i still race my RC10 Worlds' now and then and
do quite well considering i'm running 5+ yr old technology against the
latest and greatest.

Yeah, I still use a bc67 at the track (I dont run NiMH) and the worlds
is a good car even against modern rc10's... well... it's less likely
to break during a crash :)

I'd expect about $150 for everything (maybe more if it's clean). Use
some simple green on everything including tires and wheels (not
electronics) and let it soak for 10 minutes...rinse and it'll look new
again.

Thanks. I'm watching a few auctions on Ebay to see what stuff is bringing.
I was thinking of selling the bc67 seperatly from the rest possibly. I was
figuring probably about $150 for all of it, but hoping I might get more.
It's all really clean and used very little. Jeeze, I think that Hammer
speed control was nearly that much new.

You know, there is an option on the left for "Completed Items" (not
sure if you knew that). Anyway, yeah breaking it up will get you more
usually. I bought my bc67 on ebay for uh I think it was around $60. I
bought it to replace the first one i bought on ebay (for about the
same price). I sold it like an idiot (too bad because it had the nifty
gold anodized face plate) and had to buy another once the regret set
in. The new one is just silver...and not as modern looking, but still
a damn good charger for NiCDs.

I've completely sold out of RC a couple of times now, and have
convinced myself to never do it again. It's getting too expensive to
buy everything back....

Yeah, thanks. I saw the completed items today. I added it all up tonight
referencing the past sales. Somebody got $50 for his Hammer Pro....that
sounds good. Anyway, it looks like I might squeeze nearly $195 out of all of
it if I split some of it up. Hopefully I won't get stuck with pieces.

What's the best way to advertise RC epuipment auctions if any? Any really
active message boards that won't get upset over telling people about items
up for auction?

Well, as long as you're not a commercial seller and you are honest
about it being an auction and not "for sale" most boards are ok with
it. Posts to the newsgroup is usually accepted if titled "FA:
Worldscar, etc" and the contents of the auction are listed in the
message with a link. There are usually a few complainers, but hey,
this is an RC group, and it's RC stuff for auction, so it's usually ok
until it starts to border on spam (repeatedly from same person, etc).

http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/ has an RC Swap & Sell forum... Just check the
rules for posting. I've used it once to find a comm cutter.

I also remember back in the day when THIS news group always had people
swapping / selling stuff. I got a trick Superior Spectre LSD from someone
selling via this newsgroup.
