I just placed an order with Barry for a new Supra and found out he has some cool specials running this month!!
It's coming with factory wiring for FREE!! This is usually an extra $50!
And a new wing bag for only $75!! They are usually $150!

He has some new colors in stock also at the same price. Apparently he is tired of the usual same ol' colors.

Wow! Seems like a great time if you're in the market for a new Supra!!

Actually, quite reasonable if you're looking for that caliber of ship. And Barry is a top notch dealer.

Received a new Supra about a month ago (ordinary red & white :) ) with the pre-wired wing. Very nicely done. Everything is color coded-left wing, right wing and flap/aileron. Was it free?? Barry had just increased the price of the plane by $50. Wiring was well worth it.

Consider that the wiring may be included as a standard item now. Someone has to pay for this, thats the nature of business and product development. As the product evolves and more user friendly items are added the value (and price) will increase. So is the plane a bit more expensive, yes, is the wiring harness free, yes. Its now standard. Is the Supra the most user friendly plane currently availalbe, yes (IMHO). Move on.

What do you mean by user friendly? It's a wonderful contest plane but it's not a quick build by any means compared to most molded ships today, although the newest Supras are much less work to build than the early ones with all the Mods they needed. It is a great flyer, but the Perfect is much easier to fly mistake free. There are lots of superlatives for the Supra but I don't know that user friendly is one of them.

Moving on. Helped break in a new Supra today and by the end of the day it was flying pretty nice. Even had Phil doing some speed runs after he loosened up a bit. I am amazed at how tight a turn it will do on it's wingtip at low altitude. Just a big DLG really!

I hear whining. ;) Ya shoulda started in the the era when sticks and Monokote were all we had. Probably didn't build a Gentle Lady, Windrifter or Oly with Ambroid as your first sailplane. Compared to those days any modern moldy is a snorer to put together, cuz all the hard stuff is done. A few minor glue joints, a little wiring, and instant gratification.

Having built SBXCs, Superiors, Onyx, Millenia, Tempesti, F3BEagle, and few other molded dogs and cats, I gotta repeat my statement, Supra is the most user friendly plane I know, and to clarify that means the whole package including build, setup and flying.

65 F and stupid good air in Sacramento today. 20 or so guys out, 30 or so planes, you came down when you got bored. Oh yeah, all carbon Supra (#88) was in auto-thermal mode today, along with its cousin Aquila Grande.

If you mistook my very specific comments for whinning then you should re-read them. Building a molded Supra will take the average guy at least twice a long as bulding a typical fully molded open class plane. I didn't say it took too long or that it wasn't worth the effort( Buider of Supra #30). I'll grant you that it takes considerably less time than a SXBC, or even my 1/5 scale Waco YMF3( that was a beauty)

BTW, 1st plane - Wanderer - sticks and Monocote - no CA- July 1980. :D
