'Sup hover dude. Actually, that seems to go pretty good for having a small electric motor in such a large craft. I think it will be a lot faster on the water too. Well done!

Hey Guys!!
Here is a hovercraft I built from scratch a couple of years ago.
Still in pretty good shape.
I used plastic from a shipping crate.
The lift moter is a fan from a computer hooked up to a 380 Radio Shack moter.
I got that hooked up to a battery on it's own.
And I run it at 1/2 speed with a tomias speed controle.
Thrust moter is in back is a 550 with a 7 inch prop.
The hull is actually poster board and foam with a lot of dam* duct tape!
It's fast, I can out run people with it, it just won't turn at full speed.
Here are the pictures.

Hoooly Cooow!! Man that is aloooot of duct tape!!!! You and I must have a distant relative or something because for some reason or another my moms side of the family uses tape like crazy! :D You can always tell their gifts from anyone elses because ones from them will be laminated with tape!! :D They tape everything. I think they are chronic "Tape-a-holics"! :D :D :D Nice hover craft. :)

Is that a Tamiya Clodbuster that I see hiding out in back of one of those pictures? Definately one of many all-time favorites for me! :)

Yes that is a clog buster in the background.
It's all original and I've never broke a part off of it and believe me, I've tried.
I'm a FIRM believer in Duck Tape. I follow the teachings of the venerable "Red Green."
His motto is: If it ain't broken, you wern't really trying hard enough. :D

Ford we made the skirt out of white trash bags. I initially we used a single layer, but this ripped up pretty fast. then we had the idea to spray glue 2 plys of the the stuff together. THis works about 10 times as well. It does not last forever but it definately is much much better. Here is a video of the model on a small pond. The pond was too small so i really could not give it a lot load of power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2YgMS5sqYs We are planningo ut a seond model. With lift fans and wings so it should be pretty cool.
