Bill,
This is a note to tell you how impressed I was with my new 5 HZ GPS and Micro Power Logger. During a flight last weekend, I lost orientation on my plane (in the sun glare) and it went down and I couldn’t get it to recover. I knew I had my Eagle Tree Systems inside and when I went to the crash site and saw the plane in a 3 inch puddle of water… I thought I had lost everything. The plane came dripping wet out of the puddle. Water draining from the nose. I unplugged everything ASAP. I let the system dry out over the hot air vent at home and the next day, after looking it over, I hooked it up to my laptop. Not only did the GPS and Logger still function in live mode but the information about the doomed flight was still contained within! It showed that not only did I lose orientation, but explained why I was having problems with the plane before the event and couldn’t power out. At first I thought the lack of power was due to the prop change I made. But the Power Logger showed my Lipos were not as charged as I had thought them to be. I had taken off with a weak pack L Now I know exactly what happened and why and still have a "black box recorder" for the next plane too ;) .
Of course, I guess if I had plugged in my "Power Panel" ahead of take off, I would have known about the battery condition
Thanks,
Frank Davis
