I got too much thinking time on my hands today waiting to fly to Florida and do some deep sea fishing. :p Here is the question I came to think about. If you are building a spar for a woodie and it consist of spruce caps with full balsa shear webs and the intent is to put carbon tape and wrap the entire spar with tow, where do you put the tape?
For example is it any stronger to put the tape on the bottom of both spar caps and wrap with tow, or is it just as strong to place the carbon tape on the top and bottom of the spar/web assembly and then wrap with tow?
The wing is D tubed and is plenty strong already but just once I would like to do a full pedal launch with a plane I own.
Good flying to all'
