I am looking for an electric outboard engine or a jet type like on a jet ski or even an inboard/ outboard. Anyone have one for sale or trade? I will be putting it on a tunnel hull called the HotShot by Dumas boats. It is an all wooden boat 2 feet ong and 12' wide. It calls for a 3.5cc but I want to go a bit bigger.Thanx, Scott

Regarding your adding an outboard E motor to your dumas hot shot,
Current outboard e engines are limited and pricey,
however, MRC made some scale looking outboards based on brushed
5-6-700 size can motors. I have a set by mrc made of nylon/fibre type
material, not for sale, but you could find one on the used market
or fleabay. Also you could adapt the classic KB 3.5 outboard -lower
section to a brushless setup with cooling added to the inrunner motor.
You could also use a geared drive added to the KB lower to lower
the amp draw on the battery cells. MP jet makes a 3:1 nylon gearbox
for use with their inrunners, works well on my E airplanes.
CHeck with the boat sites for the right size brushless inrunner
and the esc setup for the proper loading of the batteries. Some of
these new C size batts are rated as high as 4400 MAH.
Good luck on your project, You may want to find any old MRC
bud light tunnel, already setup for outboard, or could be modded to accept
an internal brushless motor with cooling added. This rare model is
super light ABS with a nice tunnel design with graphics, I will try to
add an image of my bud light tunnel later. I also have an early
outrigger called a bushwacker for 3.5 inboard that really could light
up the water with an ops 3.5 inboard, this is a super light balsa/hardwood
outrigger that ran from 45 -65 mph with a stock ops or picco 3.5 motor.
Do a search on youtube for the electric outrigger in japan, super light
hot running brushless with diagrams of the cooling routing and setup.
Good luck, let us know what you decide,

Thank- you for the info. The 700 is what others recommend. I will search further. Take care. Scott( originally from Mich)
