I am trying to get FMS to work with my Blade CX transmitter. I'm using the SmartPropoPlus software and a stereo cable from the transmitter to the line-in jack on my sound card.

Its all detected and I can get it calibrate perfectly. All the channels are assigned to the correct controls. But when I go to fly, it never really works for helis.

I was able to get it setup right for an airplane, after reversing all the channels but throttle. But for a heli, it never works right. In FMS Alpha 8.5 the controls worked in that I could get the heli off the ground, but all the controls but throttle were reversed, no matter what I did with the inv (inverse) checkboxes in the calibration screen.

So instead I tried FMS beta 7, the recommended version. Again I was able to get everything working on the calibration screen. But when I try to flu a heli, it just barely moves around a little.

Any ideas?

Ah, after a little googling I was able to fix the problem. For helis, you have to setup the lower 4 channels, I was still setting up the top 4 (thottle, rudder, aileron, elevator).

Instead you have to use the bottom 4 - tail, nick, roll, pitch. I had no idea what those were for. I changed them from channels 5-8 to 1-4, and now it works!
