I am working on a delta pylon racer from the past at present. The plans are poor condition, have errors in notations, etc. but is only thing available right now.

Question being is the plan shows what looks to be an offset engine centerline. The centerline of engine is offset to the lefthand side by about 1/8 inch. The engine has zero down thrust and zero right thrust noted on the plan. But back when this was brought up on a aerobatic competition model, the whole concept of offset engines was considered bulloney. Well comparing today's methods versus those of decades ago it may be bulloney.

But, I got to know for back about 1960- 70 was the offset engine one of the concepts then used to compensate for offset thrust?

This is the fourth plan circa 1963-1966 that have come upon indicating off set engine now. Was this the rage during this era?

at a strong positive AOA, like in tight turns, the downgoing prop blade will have a higher angle to the airflow than the upgoing blade, and the thrust of the prop will effectively be offset. Perhaps the intention was to balance this offset?
