Hey, James,
Haven't forgotten y'all. Had to put the Twin SSX on the back burner for a while so I could complete this beauty....
Do you think you could design a SSX wing for this bird?
Still hoping to have Twin SSX built by SEFF, and will have this one there as well. Just waiting on motor tests b-4 maidening....

COOL! What's the fuse?
A 1" square aluminum(minumminum) channel cut 63" long. Everything was measured off a Slow Stick then multiplied by 200%.
W.S is 96" and uses a .46 size Tower Pro motor swinging an 13*8 prop....
Yea, it's big... :D :D :D :D

We just ran the motor up on his (Bill's) kitchen table. The Tower Pro motor and speed control, with 2 Polyquest 3s Batteries in series was pushing 50 amps and was blowing things all around the room- This motor KICKS :censored:
We will maiden this weekend coming up, and, yes, you can fly it at SEFF.....

Hey, I just found this. Man, that thing is huge. I do not think I would ARF that one. That is a shipping nightmare. I have been considering a kit for an SSX that big.
I was talking to a friend about putting twins on the SSX and thought about you. I had been meaning to ask you how the Twin was going.

Here is the finished product. I'm happy with it. There's not that much money in the project. Believe it or not, alot of the electronics and stuff I already had!
I'm off to Deland, Fl. for the Winter Festival of Giants next week with it. Mack Hodges will be there so I can show it off a bit....
Promise to work on the twin as soon as Deland is done. I still have a package of 'X-gear' from last year, but I like the new ones- I'll have to think long and hard on which ones to use........

Had a great maiden, a great second maiden, then a third.....
We took it to Deland Florida to the "Winter Festival of Giants" and got taken to task because 'It's too quiet.....'
A really great flier, and easier to fly that your average Slow Stick!
My buddy has all the video here:

He even has a video of "Mega Stick" flying with his little brother "Mini Me"
Looking forward to SEFF to fly it next, and maybe I'll talk James into making that 'Mega SSX' after all....

Hey there, Jim,
Did Bill (wmcneal) and I help to inspire you on your latest creation?
All I can say is WOW! Nice Bird! You have definately taken Mega Stick to the next level. We built ours to be exactly like a Slow Stick but 200% larger so our wing is, well, as flimsy as a Slow Stick. I like your wing better.
What motor did you use to be swinging such a large prop? Ours is a Tower Pro 3520-7T-8△ swinging a 13x8 prop from BP Hobbies with a 60 amp speed control and 6s lipos ( 2- 3s packs in series ).
Are you going to SEFF this year? Maybe we can get some pics of the two together...
