I am going to add ailerons to a model that previouisly only used Rudder control. How do I figure out the size (chord and width) of the aileron control surface?
Also if I were to add flaps (for crowing), What size would the flaps need to be relative to the wing and ailerons?
Let's use a 60" wing and a 100" wing as the example...
Thanks in advance...

Here you go.If you are looking at scale type ailerons its, 1/4%of the span and 1/4% of the wing cord. For strip type ailerons its,1/8% of the wing cord. Also I'd bring the wing dihedral down to 1/8"Good luck, stefanP

Would flaps follow the same demensions. If it's that's simple that is great!!!!
on my FVK bandit the ailerons are about 1/3 the span and about 1/5th the chord. my intuition tells me that the area is still probably about 1/4 of the wing, but the demensions are different. Would this make a difference?

Ailerons wont help the wingo turn any better, it turns fine with rudder only. :D

Most of the flap pivot points on the HQ, RG and Selig series seem to specify the flap hinge point at between 12 to 15% from the trailing edge. And what's an aileron but a flap that's used for adding lift in a differential manner. So just use the same numbers for that.
By aerobatic standards it'll seem awfully narrow but for sailplanes this works just fine.
