hi there.
I have a raptor60,and i'm thinking to buy a metal-fan for it ,cause the
plastic one has to be replaced.
is a metal upgrade worth the money? (TT upgrade or quick uk)or should I buy
a plastic one and spend the extra money in some other parts/upgrades?
thank you in advance.

I see,
no,it didn't fail but the plastic has to much "play" where it fits on the
metal part, which made some noise. and to that, the quick uk upgrade has 35 %
more air flow/pressure (they say),which is a plus here where i live (Greece)
because we have "very long summers" and the wheater is mostly hot.

Mine too. TT said you can send the old one to them and get a new one, and I
too had the doubt on the usefulness of the metal fan, the answer is that the
metal fan has better inertial and the load is smaller (so the low-mid RPM is
more stable) also the heat ventilation is better than the plastic one, I
believe it but the question is that do I really want to spend that money for
something that I am not really concerned about?

My plastic fan also failed. Same as yours. When buying a metal one consider
the QuickUK version if you ever going to use a GV1 governor. It has magnet
holders, very convenient. The original TT metal fan doesn't have them.

And if you still want a new plastic one or the original TT metal one, I have
both for sale because I'm using a QuickUK fan now. Let me know if your
interested. But to be clear, I don't recommend them.

The R30 fan had run out troubles but they solved that. The QuickUK R60 fan
is both threaded and uses a split collet fitting system together. I haven't
heard of or experienced any problems with these.
