Well, thank your very much, they look great! I see the blue boat where you made a wooden adapter for the motor to 2349 with a cooler , very nice. The picture ( 92.6 kb ) looks like a small johnson motor of what size?

currently the boats are outfitted as follows:

blue and green:

Align 430L 3500 kvm brushless outrunner with Castle Creations mamba ESC with reverse disabled, and 2000mah 2cell lipos.

orange:

Graupner Speed 400 7.2 volt with a graupner 30 amp brushed speed control and an 8 cell AA nimh battery pack.

Those pictures got my mind to thinking- I've got an 18" hull that would be perfect for converting to jet drive!

?, how did you manage to get the impeller and motor stem close enough to get the u-joints hooked up. I have a 2349 jet and a 05 motor; distance is 3/4" apart. The 05 motor stem is 7/16" long and the impeller is 5/16" from rubber seal. Now you have to have the impeller end into the nozzle as far as possible to keep impeller running smooth. I wonder if they make longer u-joints ? Thanks for your time and patience and in advance. I got it, forgot my thinking cap,LOL.
