So why is everyone going big scale electric? I am sure electric makes things 'quicker but what is the main reason for everyone doing this?

My club has a large number of IMAA pilots. There seems to be more "big bird" fly-ins in this part of the country (our club holds two per year) These fly-ins tend to be low key, sit around, talk, fly, eat, repeat. I really enjoy them.
While I enjoy flying for it's own sake and I've spent many a session flying alone due to one reason or another, I certainly prefer to fly with others. So, I guess I do it for the fellowship and I also like to show the non-electric pilots that almost any plane can be flown electric. One of my favorite things at an IMAA fly-in is to watch someone work and work on their engine, trying to get it running right. Then I pull my plane up to the line, plug in and fly, no fuss, no muss. By the way it's true, big flies better.
