Thanks, Lee.
I'll try to make it there, and hope that other things won't get in the way as they often do---.

Kap If you make it will show you the progress on the Veco tug. Building in timber takes me forever. Try an Integy 55 turn direct drive to finish up your Springer, same as one of our Ltd. 27 turn on a gearbox as far as run time and bollard pull. Lots easier to setup.

Been thinking fo a Springer race as a an add-on to the things going on. No prizes, no trophy just bragging rights. Lemans start, free for all 3laps of a course, Left and Right turns, after the rest of the stuff is done. What do you folks think?

Aaarrrggghhh! Never mind the Veco project, Lee, let's just hope that the fates will allow me to attend. :)
If so, I'll have opportunity to meet a lot of people that I've only met via the
phone or internet, and reune with a bunch of others. :D
It's been a long time since I've been to the left coast, other than on business---. :o

Classic rules state 27 turn motor, 4" square rudder, 6volts.......Would it be considered a super if you had the prop come out of the bow and run the hull "backwards". Thinking of how to overcome the bow wave.

Green Boat I will defer to the NW bunch to answer that question. Actually the original rules had no motor callout, was added in the Springer Ltd. rule in an attempt to make all boats even in the power dept. If you use a 27 turn motor put it on a gearbox to gain longer run time.

Toes That is why I dodged the question, my gut feeling is it is a Super but you never know how the NW folks would see it. Kinda like the French Catamaran setup. think I will just hang back a bit and see how it works out. Am working on a Vacumn formed one like the English one with a few modifications like Rounded Fwd corners and 45 deg. chines. Been noticing that the ball players have little damage on the hull, mostly details fall off. Figure with the proper reinforcment that Vac type would work OK, now to get one done and on the water to find out.

Lee, I looked at my spring schedule, and the weekend of May 4th will pose no problems for me to be there for the Ken Reilly regatta---. ;)
I have my travel advisor (wife) looking at airline arrangements already. :)

Kap will be looking for you on the Lake, will you need a boat to run from here or are you bringing yours? sorry about the delay in answer but this computer was fighting me for 5 days, had to get the neighbor child to fix it for me. took him 20 minutes and 2 hours to fix the stuff I had messed up. Youth is sometimes handy to have around.

The toesup boat werks crew had a day off and travelled down to the SFMYC for their Frostbite Regatta which was held in the clubhouse to show off some of the "winter's work"
Here are just a few shots of some of the excellent work on show... :D
After the show, Aerominded, Mr and Mrs Toes and Tugs (sans boat) hit the lake with Aero's Monterey fishing boat, ST-695, Scout and Mustang Sally. I think Tugs has some pics of the goings on on the water.. ;)
For some reason Aero kept shouting.. "No red paint on mine"!... :o

WoodyBob Yep, that is Kay's Crowley. he was in the area to visit the family and showed up to show us how they are supposed to look, managed to win the class. But the PT beat him out for Best of Show. Got my revenge when it went dead in the water and had to be rescued by a Springer. Always say that the Springer is the answer for a utility tug, not fancy just always there when you need it.
