I HATE CLEANING PEOPLE! I HATE OUR MAID!!!! Every Saturday and Monday she comes and ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!!! WHY!?!??! SHE FREAKIN BREAKS AND LOSES EVERYTHING!!!!! I was working on my Belt CP- left it on the table and closed this shutter thing that comes down over the desk so no one touches my work. AND WHAT DOES SHE DO!?!? SHE OPENS IT, LOSES A COUPLE OF SCREWS AND MANAGES TO BREAK THE GYRO I WAS WORKING ON INSTALLING!!!!!   AS if my mom cares, its not her stuff that she's breaking. Plus she thinks that my hobby is a bunch of toys which don't break easily and thinks I'm the one losing screws. She's on the maid's side. ANOTHER THING! I was working on my Savex L-39 to install the air retract system. Had everything going smoothly and had everything latched in. I set it on my other table and went to have lunch. I come back and find the far end of the wing cracked and the one way valve missing. I found it in the trash 2 hours later  >_> Whats worst is that the one way valve stopped working after that. She completely destroyed my Blade CX- I don't even bother to fix it and fly it anymore. There's no use. She just throws everything around. My mom calls cramming everything into boxes and shoving them under the bed "cleaning." OUR MAID HAS NO IDEA HOW TO BE CAREFUL AND WHAT TO BE CAREFUL AROUND! SHE BEARLY KNOWS ENGLISH FOR THAT MATTER AND MY MOM DOESN'T CARE THE SLIGHTEST BIT. I've been driven to insanity! Now I have to prepare for her arrival every saturday and monday by locking everything down- Then carrying all my planes and helis outside and guarding them. I-HATE-HER!!!!  If it was legal I would fly my Belt CP into her head! Anyone else have these problems? :( Or am I the only curses one :( :(

Yes, life is tough.
Be comforted when you encounter these trials of life.
You are learning to cope with adversity (and carry the valuables outside).
These battles will also prepare you for marrage.

Last week our cleaning crew messed up a plastic model Zero I have on my pc tower. Sometimes they would knock the canopy off but this time it was landing gear and little bits under the fuse. It was like they knocked it off the pc into the wall. I glued it back together and put it back. It was probably an accident.

Oh I love easy problems:

Offer to clean your own room! This would make both your mom and the maid happy, and those of us who can't afford cleaning help wouldn't think you were such a spoiled brat!

Everyone wins!!!!

Then wish for a maid that can speak and understand English, knows how to be careful, AND ACTUALLY CLEANS

Yeah that does sound like an accident. But I think our maid is doing this on purpose. This many times? Plus she always seems to make a big fuss when I walk into the room. She starts puffing air and throwing whatever she has on the floor violently. 0_0 She probably hates me for some odd reason... Must be nature.

Tried it... Didn't work... Like I said, my mom calls cramming everything into boxes "cleaning." The one thing I can't do. I can sweep and dust everything. Thats all our cleaning lady really does. I just can't cram everything into boxes where they break easily. You try cramming all your planes into a little box and stuffing it under the bed 0_0 I've also tried keeping my planes out of the way, she simply re-arranges everything the way she wants it... Even if its organized. And in that process of re-arrangement is where the stuff breaks.
LOCK YOUR DOOR!

If you don't have any lock, install one.......
Didn't try that but it wouldn't work. My mom yells at me to keep the door open at all times and never lock it

life sure can be tough. how about this, hire your own maid for the house and save your mom some dough, or become employed as the maid of the house and when you break things you know who to fire. seriously though, buy the maid some flowers and thank her for cleaning up after you guys, start being respectful, polite, and thoughtfull, then things will change. or you could get your own place, but then how could you pay for this hobby, well, pick it up again when you are in your fortys. couple ideas or something i guess for what it's worth.

My wife is the "Maid" here at our house and every year at Christmas time things get cleaned up.. Meaning RC stuff is tossed about to any convienient hiding place she can find...It's always a disaster finding stuff after the holidays.. I feel your pain... (she accidently "stepped" on a wing once, one SHE had moved!) Fortunately we have a descent cash flow so I just replace what she breaks. No-one will ever respect your RC stuff like YOU will

Well I'm sure she's already been involved with the police- her son is involved with gangs apparently... AND YET MY MOM IS STUPID ENOUGH TO KEEP HER INSTEAD OF HIRING ANOTHER ONE.... OR NOT HIRING ONE AT ALL....

She does not break EVERYTHING, maybe she knocked some screws off the deck once while she was trying to do here job.
True- probably happened by accident and screws are not that hard to replace... It gets frustrating though when the actual main frame itself gets damaged. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'VE GOT A PLANE THAT WAS MADE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD 0_0 ..... YOU KNOW.... ITS KINDA HARD.... TO GET REPLACEMENT PARTS..... YEAH.... ITS TRUE.... REALLY..... IT KINDA TAKES A WHILE TOO.... THERE ISN'T REALLY..... LIKE AN ONLINE STORE.... TO BUY THAT TYPE OF STUFF FROM.... YEAH....

Well ya know my mom just doesn't get it. She never thinks the maid ever did anything. She keeps blaming me... As always.. Sadly she was never sent from any company. She probably isn't even a trained maid. She's a latino midget that my mom seemed to have found through a contact I think... I don't even think she knows how to clean!

Clean your own damn room you spoiled brat.

By the way, your avatar means "lazy ingrate."
I wish! I'D LOVE TO CLEAN MY OWN ROOM. I DO. But it just doesn't work! She just comes in again, does her thing, and re-arranges everything to make it look like she actually cleaned. It does? Wow I never knew you could read japanese. You know all this time I was quite sure it meant "Kami-Spirit God"

I suppose sleeping with her would be out of the question?
...

She's probably your moms friend, and they've been screwing with you!
"Helen, pretend not to know english, and go and wreck the boys Heli..."
O-MAH-GAWD! THAT IS SO LIKE TRUE! MY MOM IS TOTALLY LIKE FRIENDS WITH A LATINO MIDGET WHO'S SON IS INVOLVED WITH MAJOR GANGS AND PROBABLY CARRIES A GUN ON HIM. YEAAAAAAAAAAH. AND I BET MY DOG IS REALLY A CIA AGENT SENT TO ASSASSINATE MY REFRIGERATOR! You're so smart! CASE SOLVED! STEP OUTSIDE AND YOU'LL GET YOUR NEW LIKE FREE CAR! YAYZ!!!!!!

first of all, if someone even rearranged my RC stuff, I wouldn't shut up till I was sure they wouldn't do it again. OK I won't go into detail, I would be beyond the angriest I've ever been if someone destroyed anything RC of mine.

Get some good locks and one of those laser motion-sensitive alarm systems, so if anyone even enters your work area, an alarm will sound and your stuff will be locked up. I still can't believe anyone would treat your stuff like that.

Hiding.... Yeaaaahhhh I don't need to "hide it." Its not like she goes seeking out my planes to destroy them. She's just not careful.. That or she simply doesn't like me. What I'm currently doing though is carrying all my planes into a safe zone aka OUTSIDE. Now try carrying out all your aircraft and working materials outside and back inside over and over again. Every week. For 1 month. The first month is not so bad- it gets annoying after that.

lol laser motion-sensitive alarms? I CAN SIT RIGHT THERE AND SHE'D STILL DO IT. Its not like she does it secretly. She just doesn't understand the fragility of these aircraft. I've told her before to be careful-She just nods her head and mumbles something which i can't understand. Sounds like "oooaaaak." Didn't work though. Same results.

keep your stuff in order. A cheapo tackle box from Walmart for current-project-clutter that will keep any screws from getting away, and when you're done you close the lid and walk away. As for the obvious breakages, that's worth the complaint to your mother.

With a maid around, and a little effort to keep your current project maid-proof, I'd say you have it easy. I typically do such things, and as a reminder when I leave such screws and things out, the cats always remind me to put the current project clutter under control :)

In my experience, even when someone doesn't speak the local language, there is one language they understand perfectly - dollars and cents. Everything that was damaged or lost has a value. All you need to do is buy replacements, keep the receipts, and send the bills to the cleaning company she works for. She will either be fired or she will straighten up... guaranteed.

I may have an answer, find out what kind of creature really terrifies her and then get a pet one. Like a snake or a spider or a mouse, ground squirrel (bites) bird of prey, parrot etc. Make sure they escape and run around the room regularly.

I told them always and again not to touch anything, especially electric stuff.

So I decided to take an old LiPo outside, and hooked it to my charger set to 8A charge, NiCd mode, 30 cells. Nedless to say, the fireworks was scary :D
I told them, that exactly this could happen in the basement every time they touch or rearrage my stuff, and the house would burn down.

well to respond to the original problem..lol. I try not to leave things out. Specially delicate stuff. I know when they're coming so i just clean up before hand. Last major damage was when they vacuumed the receiver antennae on my MUS. Ended up breaking the horz stab into little pieces... unbelievable amount of damage. from then on i do my best to get anything and everything carefully into one corner where they just dont clean. I tried telling them not to clean my room, but my mom yelled at me.. I'll give them credit, they do clean well, but you'd think they would realize that these things are slightly delicate...lol

This is such a silly thread  , but it does show how culturally introverted some people can be. SHE HAS NO CLUE HOW EXPENSIVE YOUR STUFF IS!!! Why? Because where she's from she probably struggled to buy her kids a 50 cent toy for Christmas. To her it's just a toy, she can't understand your heli is worth more than her whole wardrobe. I'm not saying cut her slack, or that she's the victim or anything. But you need to communicate. Try explainig it to her. Stop calling her names, and explain the issue to your mom. Speak to your mom like an adult. I can't believe she would dismiss your concerns, unless of course previous actions on your part have desensitized her from your complaints. Is that it? Do you whine about everything? "I wanted the red helicopter, not the blue one. I wanted the yak, not the edge. I want a golden goose egg NOW!"
