Would love to play around with the Pike Perfect Airfoil on Profili.
Is there a place you can download this library, or is it proprietary?
Thanks for your help,
Beat

The coordinates of the different Pike Perfect airfoils are not available. You can see drawings only at the Samba homepage.

I've wondered why some of these airfoils aren't available??? What I've found on a few "secret" airfoils is they are identical or very close to commonly used public airfoils. Guess it's good marketing....O.L.

I do believe it has become a case of tweedle dee and tweedle dumb!

Phillip Kolb is the designer of the Pike Perfect and of the airfoils used at this plane too.
He has done some calculations to create a airfoil group (strak) that is optimised for the Re-numbers at the different sections of the wing. He used 5 adopted airfoils over the half wing span, so that the lift distribution at different speeds is optimised for the used wing shape.
You have to be a little bit experienced to find here an optimum. To have date from your previous plane and knowing what you can improve is one this Phillip has. The next is to have experience with Xfoil, AVL and other programs.
When you have done this and a company has invested a lot of money to CNC mill the molds/plugs, you and the producing company will hold this small advantage for yourself. This plane you can buy and you can compete against him with his own construction. Having the coordinates and therefore can analyse what this wing is able to do, you can start at a point Phillip will continue with his next plane.
Let him have this small advantage, he has done a lot of work to get it!
I think the coordinates will be available when he stopped flying in competitions.

Obviously Phillip is a Master of orchestrating a symphony of lift with his consciousness! Getting a myriad of panels to tune together is the mastery of incorporating profiles, and is a lot heavier than just seeking the “Holy Grail of profiles;” thus he wins accolades from me! (I cannot speak for anyone else). :D

thanks for your post.
I understand that Philipp wants to keep this proprietary. I do not want to copy the plane, just play with Profili to figure out theoretically ideal flap position for different speeds.
The profiles of the Supra are publicly available, yet the Herrig Brothers keep their stuff secret, as well. Everyone as he likes...
