I picked up a BaD Forrest Sherman off eBay. Basic kit is a great place to start. Straight forward plank on frame. Great shafts and Brass props. Made my own strut rods but they do offer them to buy in the plans. Resin fittings (2 radars,3-5",4-50mm,depth charge racks, inflatable rafts, lifeboat, personel boat, davits and Mk32 torpedoe tubes)were good. I didn't add the Sonar dome. I made the masts from Evergreen rod and a set of plans from my scanner. Haven't mastered that soldering thing yet. Vacuform masts, doors, ladders, torpedo cranes and life rings are ok. Lots of room for improvement! I'm want to add some Sirmar and HR fittings. I'm running 6v 6ah gell cells and 2 Robbe Speed 600 motors direct. Has good top end but running at slow speeds; everything gets really, really HOT! Want to make belt drive @ 1.5-1.8 and bump the amp hours on the batteries. I'm at the drawing board now for gun turret mcechanisms. I'm lucky to have surplus electronic store in town. They have boxes of previously enjoyed gear reductions. Found a great geared motor motor for the radar 6rpm @ 6 volts. It continues to be a work in progress. I'll try to post a picture or two.

Outstanding work so far! Glad to hear someone has had some good success with the BAD kits. This is obvious with your build so far. The complaint with BAD has always been that their more scratchbuild then Kit! how would you rate the quality of the kit. Just your opinion. I've personally never built a BAD kit but have studied the contents several times and decided otherwise.

Someone just posted a BAD WHEC cutter at modelwarships, looks nice... but yes, expect lots of scratch building!
