I will start building 2 ....4' to 5' Grand Prix boats. Canadiana and and the Blue Mule.
I usually build scratch, with plywood. Frames, stringers, everything. I am guessing 1/8" plywood structure, with lightening holes
I need to keep a gas engine version as quiet as electric. Thru the hull exhaust pipes at the stern, with water injection after the engine for noise control, when needed at quiet public shows. Real race boat shows may allow dry exhaust. 1 problem area.
What CC or cubic inch engines are available that ARE NOT expensive race types. These boats will be run by the public with a "Buddy Box" setup on each.
I have 2 left over-- 5" X 5" with 5 bladed Prop Shop Bronze props that can be setup with a overdrive timing gear setup. Left over 1/4" SS shafts & SS bearings.
Total electric power I can handle no problem.
I do not have any experience with 2 or 4 cycle GAS engines in boats.
These are for generating public interest in boats and filling in the dead time for kids at shows. Stock engines that start easy, with carbs that do not need more adjustment than any riding mower.
Have other guys built something close to this so I do not have to stumble a lot ?
Thanks for any help.
