We were channel-surfing the other day and caught the coolest thing. In The
Dead Pool, Clint Eastwood is chased by bomb-laden nitro car with a Jag body
that is being driven by the bad guy who is also piloting his own car. They
race throughout San Francisco and at one point are on the top of Potrero
Hill on Wisconsin Street!! A block from my house!! Great. Later that
night we watched Mail Call and they demonstrated an RC surviellance plane.
It arrived on the scene in a self-contained backpack and was assembled in
seconds. It was then launched from a large slingshot and provided real-time
forward recon. I'm guessing the US military has some pretty serious RC
tools.....

The Rc in the dead pool is an original Rc10 with some mods to make it lower
looking for the Corvette body. It was driven by TA race driver Jammin Jay
somethin(I forget his last name).

It was "Jammin" Jay Halsey, then one of Associated's factory drivers, & he
also built & set up the RC10 for the shoot. However, it wasn't nitro
powered, it was an electric that of course was lowered & fitted with a
Corvette body & street tires. The nitro sounds were simply added in later in
the film's post-production work. From what they said, the car was so fast
that Jay had to take it easy in order to avoid catching the full scale car
too easily....:)

I'd have to see it again to be sure but I'm remembering it as a 63 split
window coupe.

I work for the defence force. About 6 months ago they had a special demo
day at my base. The "prancing horse" racing team were there, complete with
Ferrari 360 Modena and an onterage of babes. They also had some tanks, APCS
and a bomb disposal robot! My highlight of the day was driving the robot.
Good fun, but a little slow!

In belgium there was an TV serie called HOT SHOTS. They always drove an RC
car. And where followed and spyed by another "bad" RC team. they drived
1/10 tamiya pan cars. (joest porsche i think).
The serie was in english so maybe US, GB or autstrailian dont know.
