Of the folks out there that are familiar with the Equipage line-up or share an interest in them, I'd like to take a quick poll of your favorite (with the understanding they would be in different classes). Feel free to state your reasons why.
America 60
Challenger 70
Discovery 100
Nova Scotia 100
Olympia 100
Sea Pearl 100
Spirit 70
Images are attached for reference.
Thanks for your input.

I have the Challenger 70 and she has not sailed yet. Lack of fath in the stock rudder installation. (its a hard one to describe ) I have oped for a pull pull system and fath is coming back. next beffing up the rigging lines. SO if anyone out there has any sugestions (thats does not include shelfing it) I am open to them. she is a great looking ship and cant wait to get her in the water.

They're advertised on the sailboats section over at rc universe and the schooners always attract my attention. It's just a pity that the sails can't be made more scale looking.

Hi Bill,
If you go for the scale(ish) looks and disregard the poor building quality and the bad sails, go for it!
If you want a boat that performs, get/build something else.
I've looked inside some of these hulls and I was not impressed/amused...
Regards, Jan.

Hey Jan,
I must respecfully disagree with your comments. Over the last 6 months or so, Equipage has taken a stance to produce a product line that has more than significantly improved. Now, only superior build quality exists. If you're looking at older models, I can relate to where you're coming from, but certainly not with the models currently being produced. As with everything we offer, we also include a money back guarantee, which allows our customers to see for themselves the quality of the product. If not satisfied, it can be returned to us for full purchase price refund (within time limitation, of course). Over the next days/weeks, I'll try to get more detailed pictures on the site which will hopefully show the true quality of the boats.

 Just a point of forum etiquette - this really belongs in the classified advertising section of this forum. And, I do recognize you as a "Site Sponsor" ;)

I hear you, it was my intent to have this just a simple poll as to which model was liked the most and the reasons behind those thoughts...but when it went off track, had to let folks know we do offer a money back guarantee as our way of ensuring to everyone our confidence in the build quality. Hope we can get back on track.

..........I've looked inside some of these hulls and I was not impressed/amused...........Since when does the inside matter?
I could go for one of the schooners.

The boat in question was a Storm 100; the building quality was poor and the access to the interior was a tiny hatch, it was beyond me how you would be able to get RC equipment installed, that consisted of more than two servo's...
Mind you, two servo's (and a receiver and batteries) would be enough for the embarassing small rig of the Storm 100.
@Bill, if the future Equipage boats are constructed with sailing in mind, I'll gladly take a look when they appear in the shops in this neck of the wood.
Of the 'old' boats, there's not one that comes close to the performance of a Graupner Saphir, or my TT Voyager.

Hi there from England,
I just like to say I purchased my Equipage America's 60 last autumn/fall and have since sailed her a few times. I'm no expert but I've been reasonably impressed with certainly the quality of the finish, handling on the water and the way the model was put together.
In terms of access to the hull for radio installation, well for a model that size I think it is always a challenge to be able to easily install with out making the hatch so big that the risk of water ingress becomes even higher.

Anyone have any experience building the Mary J. Ward Schooner? And, the Equipage schooner is awesome.

Can anyone tell me where these are made? The Olympia looks nice, but I didn't see it on the site. Does anyone have a link for it? The Spirit 70 and Challenger 70 look their keels are too shallow and too tender, along with the double headsail not switching sides, the sailing characteristics look a little squirrelly, from watching the video. The price is nice, but is it made in the USA?

Equipage is out of business, due to poor quality construction.

I have an America 60 which is a good boat for what it is. It is generally well mannered but could use some improvements.
They are assembled in Vietnam..

Number one reason not to buy one of these sailboats.

I have an Oceanis 60... it sails pretty well...
It is mainly a light wind boat and struggles in anything above about 12 knots. The hatch needs to be taped down and the second time i used it all the paint peeled off so i removed all the paint around the hatch area leaving bear plastic... now no water gets in the hatch at all.
Also it has a tendency to nose dive when going down wind.
Appart from that though it is a great option for anyone wanting a good yacht at a cheap price without wanting to build.
