Newbie question about soldering resistors to motors?

HI all,

I am a newbie with a question about soldering the resistors to the motors.
I just got a Tamiya XB (pre-built) Hummer and would like to replace the
mechanical speed controller with a LRP Runner Plus. I have read the
instructions and my question is that when I solder the resistors, do they go
between the motor terminals and the casing, with the motor lead wires still
in place? Or do I disconnect the motor lead wires and connect them through
the resistors?

P.S. one other questions, how do I remove the rear dampers, the top
connections seems like a brass ball joint - does the dampers just "snap"
on - do I just force it off?

You don't solder resisotrs to the motors, they are capacitors. 50uF
unpolarised ones to be precise.

solder one between the +ve motor terminal and the casing of the motor, one
between the -ve motor terminal and the casing and one between the +ve
and -ve motor terminals. then solder the wires from the speedo to the
terminals on your motor.

The diagram only shows 2 capacitors - one on each of the terminal - however
my LRP Runner Plus w/ reverse did come with 3 capacitors in the baggie.
Which is correct?

Use three.
One from positive to negative,
One from positive to the can,
One from negative to the can.
