strut and prop setting

hi can somone clear somthing up for me .is it best to run my tunnel
hull/cat hulls with the strut and prop up high or lower as . id like
to know what way other people are using there hull set ups .im running
a 26cc sikk, with a octura x478 prop. all info would be great

The only way to work out which is best for your motor/hull/prop setup s
to try different hieghts.

The basic principle is this:

- The higher you lift the strut the more to prop will be out of the
water and therefore unload easier. Lift it higher if you think your
engine isn't getting enough RPM.

- Alternatively, if your engine is getting heaps of RPM try lowering
the strut to put more prop in the water which will increase your top
end speed.


It's all about balance getting the best RPM and speed without going too
extreme in either direction.

Do you have any photos? Might be worthwhile trying some different
props as well Propshop 7016 2 or 3 blade , x470 or 6717/3. I run a
6516/3 400 on my Insane cat but I tried o modified 6717/3 the other
week which was great.
