Sorry to rehash this. Who is the dealer for the Picolario vario in the US? (Do we need to order from UK or Germany?) I did a search and all I could find was http://www.picolario-usa.com/. The blond is cute, but not suited for the task.

Also, does anybody have the definitive answer regarding 433 mhz(europe) vs. 462 mhz (USA) debate. (Is the 433 OK in the States?)

Thanks and Happy New Year,

Bill

I think that you can do 433 Mhz in the USA, but you have a limit for the emitted power, around -20dbm if I remember well...Picco are voice modulated equipement so don't know if they apply for that.
In europe countries are more or less free to regule as they want even if there are some common rules. I think 433 is not usable in the UK. Plus the band is subdivided for different purpose in each country. In france the regulation for this band is changing, you have to listen before talk now, emission won't last more than a second if the band is free, then listen for a few ms... and so on. Some limitations disappear if you tx at only 0dbm...or depending on the band pass...not an easy thing sorting out which rules to apply where....

I think all the Pics that are currently sold are usually on FRS band. Not sure how that fits in.
