Hi, I want to build a simulator cable for my futaba 6EX. It has the new micro plug so I couldn't find any plans... I already have a printer cord (LPT) and the knowledge on how to put them together but I can't find a plane to tell me which cable goes where.
does someone has schematics for it? or at least tell me which wire goes where...
edit: I want to use it w/ realflight and ppjoy

Have a look at the DIY electronics forum, and if you have access to a PIC programmer all the files are contained in this thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=508122
there are other designs for serial / paralell port interfaces, but these can have problems, especially if used with XP

You may find that realflight needs its own dedicated controller if you have the interlink version (G2 onwards).

Ok in a nutshell:
Realflight G2 came in two versions. One which used a serial number for the CD but could be used with any joystick or interface that emulated a standard windows joystick. Later versions then came out with their own dedicated interface / controller in a bid to stop software piracy, and to make the sim available to those without their own TX's. This use of an interlink controller to protect the software form piracy has been used ever since, so if you have a copy of anything other than the original version of G2 then it won't work with any other form of interface.

As the hardware forms the copy protection you can't simply by the interface, you have to purchase the full retail package.
The parallel port interface is only supported by a few limited sims like FMS, but if you are running XP then you may need a 3rd party virtual port application like PPJOY to get it to work, which is often hit and miss. To be honest you are better off buying a USB interface that emulates a standard windows joystick, which as the previous poster cost around $10 for a cheap basic item from the far east, or if you want something that will provide a wider support for all types of transmitters (including those that have pre set mixing of the channels) then invest in the offerings from milehigh wings.

buying is a problem, cuz I'm from israel. and I found only ONE connector from the controller to the PC and it costs 40$ (approximately). does someone have the diagram on how to connect it through a serial port? I have an old printer I can use.

Why is that a problem. Its the 21st century and you can buy anything on-line and have it delivered anywhere in the world. And if you do a quick browse of the great planes web site you'll see that have two retailers listed in your country (heck as I had to look that up I'll save you the trouble)
ISRAEL
Shalat Rachok Hobby Store
17 Ben Gurion Street
Herzliyah
Telephone: +972 (9) 956-3176
Fax: +972 (9) 954-7430
ISRAEL
Galaxia
Rochild 114
Rishon Le-Zion
75205
Telephone: +972 (3) 967-7101
Fax: +972 (3) 966-4319
the latter has a website too http://www.galaxia.co.il/
Save your $40 for that other controller and put it towards a retail package of G3 / G4
