Australian UAV Competition Video

The 2007 inaugural UAV Outback Challlenge was quite a successful event. No-one managed to complete the challenge however and so in 2008 the prize will be $50,000. One of the highlights of the event was the extraordinary talent of the entrants in the high school class, demonstrating autonomous take-off and landing, excellent airbourne telemetry and very skillful manual piloting. Wow! That's great! This is the first time I've seen this video. I was the mission manager for team 'Blue Supremacy' who crashed at the start of the video! Thanks for posting this vid. Is there anywhere I can download this or a higher res version from? That was great fun. Definitely looking forward to the next one...

i hope to be at the UAV challenge (most likely next year due to time constraints) to take a shot at the prize! it's actually my uncle who told me about this and he's already begun getting things together. it's unfortunate the challenge could not be met last year because of all the technical difficulties.
