does anyone know a way to remove the cement from a 25w wirewound resistor. i am going to use it as a voltage divider. and i want to remove the cement with out damaging the nicrome wire.

by cement you mean that plaster like filling and not some kind of glue, right? maybe give hydrochloric acid a try, it shouldn't hurt the wire.

I think the best is that you make your own resistor buying nicrome wire.
