Hello,
I need some advise and direction.

What are the most powerful motors that are being sold of the shelf in the hobby market today? (I have seen max 6 KW)
Would a motor like this be able to sustain this rating ort is this a burst rating?

Are the controllers usually matched to the motors being sold by the vendor.

For example: If I would use this 6 Kw motor, would I be able to run it for at least 15 minutes at that 6 KW rating. My need to control the motor is either off or full power. What battery packs would I need to run this motor for those 15 minutes.

What are the safest batteries that have excellent capacity that would need the least monitoring during the operation.

Thanks

Hi Udo,

Have we met? The name is very familiar.

There are a few motors >10kw
Predator 37 (http://www.plettenberg-motoren.com/german/motoren/aussen/Predator37/Motor.htm) at 15 kw
The smaller Predator 30 (http://www.plettenberg-motoren.com/UK/Motoren/aussen/Predator/Motor.htm) at 11 kw
The Neu motors BAM (http://www.neumotors.com/20061222/22%20series%20data.html) at 12 kw.
Large Hacker A100 - A200 (http://www.hackerbrushless.com/motors_a100.shtml)

As far as continuous duty, that all depends on cooling. :)
