View Full Version : Discussion What's a good max Cl at low Reynolds numbers?

Hi all, I have some small flying wing gliders that fly at an RE= 6700 at the root. When I rearranged the lift equation to calculate for Cl, it came out to about 0.6. Is this good for the low RE? Bad? In between?

Sounds about what you would expect for a flying wing operating at very low Re.

I suppose; but it still frustrates me that real planes have Cls up to 2.8 or so without blown flaps.

Darn Physics.
