I am looking for an off the shelf platfotm for a UAV. Somthing looks like the X-sight or Pioneer RQ-2b but smaller (The pictures posted below). .I want a platform to take about 1~1.5 pounds of equipment into the air but I also would like it to be durable (possibly epp foam or fiberglass) Has anyone seen anything like that, but sells for less than $500.00 (not including electronics)?

Going to be difficult to find. Most model planes(the only pre-made airframes I know of, for our purposes) either hold a decent payload, or are durable, usually not both. Id say, if you want a platform capable of 1 to 1.5 lbs that is durable and under $500, you goan' hafta build it yerself, son. Certainly the best solution (IMO).

What kind of powerplant are you looking to use? How large is the payload? How much duration?

I can design just about anything that you'd want in fiberglass and can also cut EPP with my CNC foam cutter.

hehe, so how much would it cost to get 1.5-2m wingspan fiberglass pioneer from you?

P.S. My powerplant is electric, payload of few kilos and endurance of at least an hour...
