Just thought I'd post a few pics from our Christmas party sail. It was a great day that ended up with a night sail. Hope you find them interesting.

Those are cool boats! I never would have guessed that was a Bristol Bay!

Very nice! I also thought that was a Latina Hellen and not a Bristol bay.

I like the old river steamer, it looks like it has lots of character. :)

You are of course right. My mistake. Sorry 'bout that. It is a Latina Helen.
Regards
Paul.

Great stuff. It looks like your club fancies the classic lines of old steamers. we really don't see enough of those around here anymore. Night running is always cool. Happy Holidays to all you folks "Down Under"

Looks like it was great fun. You have some very talented builders down there. Neat subjects. Happy Holidays.

All gorgeous boats,...

The Murray River steamer has a nice set of passenger and crew.
I have to agree with 'Der Kapitan', it has a great charactor... all the way down to the cargo and tarpaulins.

Yes Umi, that kind of subject opens up a lot of opportunities to get creative with figures and objects. :)

I've been wanting to do a small excursion boat or ferry for years, and have some nice figures stashed away for it when I do. ;)

Now just for some time---. :o

Tim, It's summer there in Austrailia, like it is here in the Florida Keys, but warmer. It was quite chilly last night here, 59degF, wind 25 knots NNW. Really I'm not rubbing it in, you guys have been slammed with snow and ice, cold weather, etc... I feel bad for all you guys that lost power and had to drive in that crap, I really do. But I had to wear socks and blue jeans to take the garbage out this morning what a bitch! :D

I asked a question I already knew the answer to! :D It's nice to see such nice boats in obviously warm and sunny surroundings. It takes my mind off of the wintery wonderland all around me and reminds me of summer. :) When I was a kid of 16, we had a girl from Australia come and work on our farm. It was similar to a foreign exchange student program.I recall she was quite pretty. She told me that because she was spending the summer with us, she would be experiencing three summers in a row.

Seasons greetings to all.
Thanks for your interest & comments. I'm glad to say that we have some talented old salts ( ex navy, merchant marines, engineers, hydro racers, boat builders etc) who bring a wealth of knowlege to the club. And the stories. Ah! The stories. But there are many members from all from all walks of life, & a large proportion of us seem to be interested in the old & vintage. Even the guys who also race the fastest fast electric hydros & monos.
Tim.
I think the temp was about 28 deg C . thats 82.4 deg F (I had to google the conversion ) We don't hear the farenheit scale much here. A bit cloudy & windy at times.
Here's a few more pics.

Take care over the holidays,
Paul.

After we get thru winter here, 59 degrees is a heat wave. It's T-shirts, shorts and flip-flop weather.
