What's the best and safest product to use for removal of the sticky residue left behind from decals on a composite (plastic) hull? I don't want to risk removing the paint. Formula 409 cleaner didn't work for me. Capt. Terry

WD40 or Turpentine substitute got the residue off my University club.

The WD40 and some rubbing with a paper towel worked great! What would we do without WD 40? Thanks for the tip. Capt. Scooter

Simplest Soluion and doesn't hurt the paint is to use Orange Oil (Citrus Extract) Guaranteed to remove lots of pesky stains as well.

Go to wd40.com There's a list of over 2000 uses for the stuff. Can't drink it though.

When I worked at Wally World, we used Simple Green to remove the glue left from lables. It works great and is eco friendly(not petroleum based).

If the sticky decal or price tag is still in place, use a heat gun. To remove any further residue, I use WD-40, Goo gone, or rubbing alcohol.

Eucalyptus oil is an Aussie favourite.
WD40 if you don't mind using chemicals.

For all the WD-40 fans which i am one of...
You only need two tools:
WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it shouldn't use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and it does use the duct tape.

sometimes (depending on the adhesive) you can use simple vegatable or olive oil. WD40 or Orange oil have worked for me in the past as well.
