Gents,

I have a Paasche air compressor that I got along time ago. I rediscovered it when cleaning the basement out this year. I cleaner it up and plugged her in and she is still purrs like a champ. So here are a list of Q's for you guys:

- What is the difference between a single and double action gun?

- What kind of paint and primer is needed for plastic and fiberglass helicopter canopies?

I am just getting started on doing some research on this topic. Any helpful links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Single action means you push the button, and you get a spray coming out with the air and paint at the same time. Double action means there are two actions. Push down on the button and you get air only. As you pull back on the button, the needle begins to allow paint to be sucked into the air stream.

You get much more control of the paint with the double action guns. I don't know about the plastic canopies, but fiberglass can be painted with almost any primer and paint. Just make sure the two are compatible.

Don't but a gun that sprays too small of a pattern. Just because it can spray a 1/16" line, and costs more, doesn't mean you will get the best airbrush. Decide what you will be painting and get a gun that sprays that size pattern.

Is it better to get a gravity fed airbrush or a bottom feed for airbrushing foamies?
