i am about to delve into the art (?) of airbrush painting. I have seen a few
good models with sprayed hulls e.t.c. and have decided I must have a go.
Anyone care to share experiences? Can I spray enamels? I realise I will need
to thin the paint down but I am honestly a beginner here. Any pointers
appreciated.

I am no expert at airbrushing but you can spray enamels as I have just
airbrushed a mine sweeper that I am building using enamel thinners to thin
enamels down it worked ok for me

You can airbrush with anything. I don't have one yet, but will be
getting one as soon as I can slip it by the wife. I've spray-painted
lots with 'official' spray guns, and it's easy and fun. My only tip
would be to have just as much light as you can get. As you're
spraying, sight down the piece to see how much paint you're putting
on.

I've got an old tag-sale compressor that will be perfect. It's small
and I can set the pressure where I need it. I've gotta get a
water-trap and I'll be in. A water-trap is probably the most
important accessory needed - water is a bad thing.

My question would revolve around single- vs. dual-action brushes. How
difficult is the dual-action one to learn, please? The 'big' guns I
used were dual-action, and honestly, I never learned how to use it
effectively.
