Right & Left hand outboards

I just received a pair of electric outboards. Right hand and left hand
rotation. When I hooked them up with the right polarity the so called left
hand one runs but the rotation would make the boat go in reverse.
I understand the reason for having the 2 for a dual motor setup is to
counter the torque of having both go in the same rotation.
Me thinks that the wires were misinstalled at the factory,many moons ago.
Any comments?

Does the left motor rotate the same direction as the right one. If so
you need to change your two motor leads. If it rotates opposite
direction the you problem is you have two props that are the same
rotation.. You need a right hand and a left hand prop.
