Hi,
Just want to know how deep can an RC sub go. Is it possible to build a
model sub without an antenna sticking out of water surface?
Thanks.
Kelvin.

yes it is just leave the antenna wire on the inside of the sub, and it will
generally go as deep as you dare take it..
saltwater or pool water will make the reception of the signal worse.

MX if you are good in these kinds of business, do you have any tips for
building an
electric turtle and make it to spy on how a pool of turtles live?

You can go as deep as you want - it's getting back up that's the
trick!

hey john don't tease me ok!
this time i am serious as i want to know how deep a decent 27MHz RF
transceiver can propagate
in fresh water. I am looking for some communication engineering students to
answer my question.
Thank you.

Kelvin,
the figures I have for 27 Mhz are about 10m in fresh water, 3.5m in a
swimming pool with chlorine in the water, and 5cm in salt water. Of course
if you're standing on the bank and the sub's in the middle of the pond the
actual depth you can control at will be less since the signal has further to
travel through the water at an angle. You're also very unlikely to see a
model sub at 10m depth to be able to control it anyway.
