I bought a $5, 10-LED string of Christmas lights from Target. They run on 3 AA batteries in series for 4.5V - all white LEDs. How would I plug these into my RX?

Hi,
i do not think, that your rx outputs have the full voltage of a 11,1 v lipo. Your speed-controller has probably a bec-system, that gives around 5 volt to your rx. This should be the voltage on all outputs and ok for your LEDs.

I use and old brushless controller with the motor leads cut off as a voltage source for my LED's. It supplies 5 volts at 1.5 amps, enough to do probably 4 or 5 strings of LED lights. I have 4 strings on my Slow Stick with excellent results!
