I can't say anything bad about the Savage because I don't really know
much about it, but I do have a T-MAXX 2.5. It's great.
This is why I would buy one...
The 2.5 engine makes the truck scary-fast
It's well constructed and Traxxas lives up to their claims
Parts are easy to find and the Traxxas replacement parts are not too
expensive
There are a million different hop-up's and add-ons available
Traxxas has great support over the phone or on-line
However...
The 2.5 engine is not the easiest thing to tune. It takes some time
and a lot of trial-and-error to get it running perfectly.
The truck is expensive, with gas ($22 per gallon), replacement parts
(tires, plugs) etc...
....But it's great fun.
