O.K. so I bid on one of these on Ebay...50$

I'll need to get batteries for it and I'm hoping I can put lipo's in it. Will this be possible?

Did I screw myself?

Not knowing what to look for in a 3d heli and with everyone else's opinion I became confused and impulsed on this one. :o

Can someone tell me anything positive about this bird?

Or should I just try to turn it around on Ebay if I'm the winning bidder?

Thanks in advance,

Biker Dude

To answer your questions directly, you can put lipos in it, you're not screwed ($50 probalby won't win the auction unless it's one of those with like $90 shipping), impulse buys are not usually a good idea, I can't say anything positive about walkeras, except they're usually cheap, I'd just turn it around on ebay if you win. :)

How much experience do you have with r/c helis? If you're learning or haven't even flown a 4ch, single main rotor heli yet, i have a whole other set of recommendations for the budget minded.

IMO, an Esky Belt CP or the upcoming Blade 400 would be a much better foray into 3d flying, even if they cost more than a walkera to start. You're likely going to dump money into that walkera constantly just to keep it in the air. Heli flying isn't a cheap hobby, especially when you get into 3d... so I'd be prepared to sink $100 a month or more into your 450 size heli once you have it setup... which is why a simulator is worth every penny.

If you're really serious about 3d, i'd just go for the RCT-450 diablo or a rex-450.

Pheeeww! Dodged a bullet on that one! Someone beat my bid by 1 dollar.

As far as flight is concerned I have been flying a BCX2 for about 5 or 6 weeks.

I think I burned up the motors and have ordered another set.

I am buying a transmitter from Joe and I am going to use it to learn 3d flight before I try anything crazy.

I just don't feel challenged enough on the BCX2 any longer.

Thanks for your input!
