low batterys

Taking the batts out of the boats for the winter. The 4 AA packs with disposable batts should have a nominal 6v output. At what level should they be tossed? One reads 5.7v, one 5.4v, etc. Is there a rule of thumb for this? I don't want to heave a bunch of usable batts. :confused:

I feel that AA's are cheap enough to go buy new ones when boating season starts up again. In the mean time take then out so they don't corrode things up just sitting there and use them in the TV remote. :D

and a 1.5v cell reading 1.1v will still power a TV remote till 2012!
