I am in the process of gathering the necessities, I am a bit confused,
I see a lot of High dollar starter extensions and a bunch of em for 8-15
bucks.
The 50 dollars ones come with a one way bearing, cheaper ones do not.
The instructions for the Caliber 30 do not say which one I need. What is the
difference? and Which one do I need?

Thanks
Dave.

PS
My Caliber 30, OS 32, and Futaba should be here WEDNESDAY!!!
Now I need to find some help here around the south side Houston - Galveston
Texas area

It depends on the design of the starting system of your heli, if your heli
starter shaft connects to engine directly (like Sceadu), you'd better get
the one with one way bearing. Otherwise, like Raptor, the starter shaft
already has a one way beraing when connected to the engine, then you can get
the cheaper one.

The one way bearing of the starter shaft (either on the heli side or on the
starter extension side) is used when engine is started, the engine rotates
faster than the starter, and the slower starter extension won't drag Engine
and also it is much easier to remove the starter extension away from the
starter hex. I use the cheaper one without one way bearing for both Raptor
and Sceadu, don't know how many time I have to find my starter extension rob
and sometimes it hits me when I try to start Sceadu!

How similar is the starter shaft to Nitro trucks?

6mm shaft, using a one way bearing on the shaft. but the hex? Is that on the
shaft from the starter?

they are!
