Ok folks....

I now have new radio gear that's legal (Does that give you any idea how long I've been away from building and flying?) so I'm ready to start construction on the first of four kits I held onto.

Going first onto the building board will be the H.O.B. Two-Tee with the canopy option. Since I now have a Futabe 6 channel radio I was wondering how far I should go with the mods. Stock configuration is 2 channel for Rudder/elevator. Do you feel that it is worth the extra effort to add in spoilers and flaps along with a small electric motor system for launching? I'm already going to be adding some carbon to the inside of the fuselage for extra strength in that weak area just in front of the tail.

I have one complete in the hangar that I've yet to maiden. Built it stock. The airfoil isn't one of those that are hard to get down like an Aquila or my Sagitta 600.

You dont really need to add spoilers or flaps as the plane comes out a tad heavy and really doesnt have a problem comming down.

This is not my first 2-T. The last one I had was a real floater and I often had to add ballast to smooth out the filght. It was used mostly as a sloper at Torry Pines when I was living in San Diego, but I did make a couple of trips out to the Borrego desert where I had trouble bringing it down due to the thermal strength in the area. I build everything as light as possible and often use micro servos. My main complaint about the 2-T is the inherant weakness right in front of the vert stab. I have learned to reinforce the area with carbon fiber to keep it from snaping on a less than gental landing. Other than that, I've always built it in the stock configuration.
